Sound Academy
An interactive platform where you learn sound by doing: theory, a real assignment, uploading your own work and specific feedback with AI grading. From the very basics to masterful installations.
The Academy launches soon
I'm finishing the first courses and pilot lessons. Leave your e-mail to be first in — with an early-bird discount.
How a lesson works
- 1
Theory — a short video, text and playable examples
- 2
Assignment — a real task with downloadable source files
- 3
Work — you create in your own DAW (Reaper, Audacity, Pro Tools…)
- 4
Submission — upload your result (WAV/MP3)
- 5
AI grading — a score, specific issues with timestamps and steps to improve
- 6
Progress — XP, badges and unlocking the next lesson; re-uploads are welcome
AI grades technique and speech precisely (loudness, edits, noise, filler words). For advanced lessons I review the artistic side personally.

| # | Lesson | Task type | XP | Badge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| L01 | Sound from Zero: How We Actually Hear What sound is, frequencies and decibels, how hearing works — and a quiz that verifies you truly get the basics. | Quiz | +100 | 🏅 First Listen |
| L02 | Record a Clean Voice Record 20–40 s of your own voice without noise or clipping. AI measures clipping, SNR and loudness, then tells you how to improve. | Audio upload + AI grading | +150 | 🏅 Clean Signal |
| L03 | Clean Dialogue for Video You get raw dialogue with background noise. Clean it, balance it, submit it — AI compares your result with the original. | Audio upload + AI grading | +200 | 🏅 Dialogue Cleaner |
| L04 | Edit a Podcast: Flow and Clarity Edit a raw interview full of slips, filler words and dead pauses into a fluent result at −16 LUFS. Flagship lesson — AI finds every remaining 'uhm' with its timestamp. | Audio upload + AI grading | +300 | 🏅 Clean Cut |
| L05 | Loudness Normalisation: −16 LUFS for Podcasts Bring an unbalanced recording to −16 LUFS with true peak below −1 dBTP and consistent loudness over time. | Audio upload + AI grading | +200 | 🏅 Loudness Master |
| L06 | Where to Legally Download SFX and Read Licences CC0, CC-BY, royalty-free vs. rights-managed — a quiz after which you'll never misread a licence again. | Quiz | +100 | 🏅 Licence Expert |
| L07 | SFX & Atmospheres: Layering and Sync A silent clip and an SFX library: you design the whole scene. AI measures technique and sync; I judge believability personally. | Project + AI and human review | +300 | 🏅 SFX Hunter |
| L08 | Field Recording: A Clean Atmosphere Head outdoors and record 30–60 s of atmosphere — no wind rumble, no clipping, with stereo width. AI checks phase correlation too. | Audio upload + AI grading | +250 | 🏅 Field Recordist |
| L09 | Spatial Sound: Movement in the Stereo Field Turn a mono sound into convincing movement through space — panning, distance, reverb. The first step towards multichannel installations. | Audio upload + AI grading | +250 | 🏅 Spatial Architect I |
| L10 | Sound & AI: Realtime Adaptation to Space Experiment with the interactive Lab demo and a short reflection: where could your work lean on realtime and AI audio? | Experiment & reflection | +150 | 🏅 AI Sound Pioneer |
